This plant has distinctive arrow-shaped leaves and delicate but striking violet to violet-blue flowers. It's a versatile and resilient herb that flourishes across a broad range of environments, from the cool climates of Tasmania to the tropical forests of Queensland. Its adaptability makes it a superb choice for gardeners seeking a low-growing, ground-cover plant that offers both ornamental beauty and ecological benefits, such as a host plant for many butterfly species but specifically the Australian fritillary butterfly that is at risk of extinction.

Care Considerations:

Regular watering is necessary to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. This species is relatively low-maintenance but benefits from occasional fertilisation and mulching to enhance soil health and moisture retention.
