Why we love this plant!
Native Raspberry is a vigorous, scrambling shrub that produces small, edible red fruits enjoyed by birds, small mammals, and humans alike. Thriving in the subtropical climate of South East Queensland, it grows well in open woodlands and forest edges, providing essential food and shelter for local wildlife. Its sprawling habit makes it excellent for erosion control on slopes and disturbed areas. The plant’s thorny branches also offer protection for nesting birds. With its drought tolerance and adaptability to various soil types, Native Raspberry is a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly gardens while contributing to a resilient backyard ecosystem.
