Habitat:

Leaf information:

Narrow, strap-like green leaves that form a clumping shape

Preferred Soil:

Prefers moist, well-drained soils but is tolerant of a variety of soil types, as long as they are not too compacted. It thrives with moderate moisture but can adapt to slightly drier conditions.

Libertia paniculata is a delicate, grass-like plant with striking white star-shaped flowers that appear in clusters, bringing a touch of elegance to any garden. Its low-maintenance nature and adaptability make it ideal for eco-friendly gardens, while its structure provides a lovely, airy quality, especially in shaded or woodland areas. This hardy plant is also beneficial in supporting native insects and thrives in challenging areas where many other plants may struggle.

Care Considerations:

Easy to care for and suits a variety of garden styles. It needs regular watering when first planted, especially during dry spells, but becomes quite resilient once established. Mulching around the plant helps retain moisture and suppress weeds. It typically doesn’t require much fertilisation; however, a light application of native plant fertiliser can encourage growth. Minimal pruning is needed—simply remove old flower stems and foliage to keep it looking fresh.
