Why we love this plant!

Leptospermum 'Pink Cascade' is a low-growing, spreading tea tree with soft, arching branches and masses of pink flowers that bloom in spring. Ideal for South East Queensland gardens, it thrives in sunny spots and copes well with coastal conditions, wind, and drought once established. Its dense, cascading habit makes it a good option for retaining wall edges, embankments, or groundcover in native and wildlife-friendly gardens. The flowering display attracts bees and other pollinators, supporting the local ecosystem, while the evergreen foliage provides low shelter for small creatures. Low-maintenance and adaptable, it suits both formal and informal planting styles.

Care Considerations

Watering preferences:

  • Water regularly until established, then reduce frequency based on rainfall.

Mulching preferences:

  • Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Fertilising preferences:

  • A balanced fertiliser can be applied in spring to promote healthy growth.

Pruning preferences:

  • A light prune after flowering can help maintain shape and encourage dense growth.

Good to Know:

  • Attracts: Nectar-rich flowers attract native bees, including the Blue Banded Bee (Amegilla cingulata) and other pollinators.
  • Its low, cascading form also provides shelter for beneficial insects in garden beds and rockeries.
