Preferred Soil:

Loved for its large, heart-shaped leaves and striking yellow flowers with a red centre, which add a tropical touch to any garden. This hardy and versatile plant is low maintenance and a great option for many garden situations. Perfect as a windbreak, shade plant or privacy screen and in coastal areas as it can bear the full brunt of salt and exposure making it an excellent choice for a coastal garden. It can also be grown in poorly draining soils and with bore water and supports local wildlife.

Care Considerations:

Moderate watering needs, drought tolerant once established. Apply organic mulch to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds. While not required you can lightly feed with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season. Minimal pruning required, mostly to trim, shape however will tolerate heavy pruning if you want to control the size.
