Why we love this plant!

Bright coral-pink and yellow flowers bloom throughout the year, making this hybrid grevillea a magnet for nectar-feeding birds and pollinators. Its dense growth habit offers shelter for small wildlife and makes it suitable as a hedge, feature shrub or part of a mixed native garden. Adapted to a wide range of conditions, it's a good option for low-maintenance gardens across South East Queensland. Regular flowering and minimal upkeep make it a reliable choice for boosting biodiversity and adding vibrant colour.

Care Considerations

Watering preferences:

  • Water regularly during dry periods, especially while establishing. Once mature, it is quite drought-tolerant.

Mulching preferences:

  • Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, particularly in warmer months.

Fertilising preferences:

  • Generally not necessary; if needed, use a low-phosphorus native plant fertiliser.

Pruning preferences:

  • A light prune after flowering can help maintain shape and encourage dense growth.

Good to Know:

  • Nectar-rich flowers are a favourite of honeyeaters and native bees, supporting pollinators year-round.
