Why we love this plant!

A low-growing, spreading grevillea with rich red flowers that bloom prolifically, attracting honeyeaters and other pollinators. Its dense foliage provides excellent ground cover, helping to suppress weeds and stabilise soil, making it a good option for erosion control and native gardens.

Care Considerations

Watering preferences:

  • Low to moderate watering; drought-tolerant once established.

Mulching preferences:

  • Applying organic mulch helps retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.

Fertilising preferences:

  • Generally not necessary; if needed, use a low-phosphorus native plant fertiliser.

Pruning preferences:

  • A light prune after flowering can help maintain shape and encourage dense growth.

Good to Know:

  • Attractive to nectar-feeding birds such as New Holland Honeyeaters (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae) and native bees.
