Naturally found in a variety of habitats across Australia, particularly in open forests, woodlands, and grasslands. It often grows in shaded, moist areas and along creek banks. | |
Leaf information: | Bright green kidney-shaped leaves |
Preferred Soil: | Prefers slightly moist, well-drained soils however, will tolerate a range of moisture levels |
A favourite due to its low-growing, creeping habit and its ability to form a dense, lush green carpet, making it an excellent alternative to traditional lawn. This hardy, low-maintenance plant is ideal for groundcover, erosion control, and filling in between pavers or pathways
Care Considerations: | Regular watering during the first growing season is recommended to establish a strong root system, drought-tolerant once established. Apply organic mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds, especially when establishing. Fertiliser is not required, however a light feed with a balanced fertiliser can be applied during growing season if required. Pruning is not required but can be mowed or trimmed to control growth if desired. |
