Leaf information: | Round glossy, dark green leaves |
Preferred Soil: | Adaptable to a range of soil conditions, preferring well-drained soil. |
A resilient, evergreen shrub that not only adds beauty to our gardens but also supports wildlife diversity. It has a red fruit and terminal white flowers that are not just eye-catching but also a haven for birds and insects, fostering a thriving ecosystem right in our backyards.
Care Considerations: | While the plant is drought tolerant, a generous water for a couple of weeks after planting will ensure strong root growth. Be careful not to overwater and make sure soil is well draining. This shrub can be pruned back to maintain shape and encourage denser growth. While fertilisers are not generally required, you could look at a slow release fertiliser to support growth. Applying a layer of mulch can also help maintain soil temperature and reduce weed growth. |
