This is a versatile Australian native that can be grown as a tree or a shrub. It's known for its striking lemon-yellow flowers that are great for attracting a variety of wildlife providing shelter and a rich food source for nectar-feeding birds and beneficial insects. It's hardy enough to handle both coastal gardens, thriving in sandy soils with coastal wind sprays, and inland frosts for colder parts of SEQ, making it wonderfully versatile in various settings.
Care Considerations: | Established plants are drought tolerant, so watering should only be required when replanting. Pruning can be beneficial for shaping or size management and to encourage denser foliage, but not strictly required. Fertiliser shouldn't be necessary however, if one is going to be used a low-phosphorus, native plant fertiliser is recommended. |
